Inspirations
MasterpoochesTM Was inspired by the antics of Cadette, my Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier while I was completing my art degree and taking art history and studio classes. Her vacant stare....the mustache...she was Salvador Doggi! My models are the obliging pooches of friends and others within my community. I love painting them and hope you enjoy my praise - and parody - of two of my favorite subjects. AND, there are more to come! Do you have a Masterpooch in your household? I'd love to see him or her!

It's an Abstract Life I think many of us wish that life was a "picture perfect" kind of existence - just the way we imagine or hope it could be. But, a pretty picture is "eye candy" - easy to look at, but not very nutritional. At least, that's my opinion. I really believe that beauty in art as well as life is the ultimate resolution of the elements - value, color, shape, line, texture. This is my visual take on my philosophical view.

Sew What? This is a series based on my family's history of sewing. I was taught by my mother (who was taught by her mother). No "home ec" in high school - I was sewing all my own clothing (mostly dresses, that's all we could wear) in junior high.

My boards are the shapes of the pattern pieces that I used in the paintings. They are a mixed media of patterns, fabrics, buttons, trims, and even pins and yarns from current projects. Many of the items are from the saved patterns and supplies of my mother and grandmother's sewing.
